Chrysanthemum Exhibition 【菊花展】
Hot summer has gone and we are in the midst of autumn.
Here is a famous saying,
“Autumn with the sky clear and blue, and horses growing stout.”
(Ten takaku uma koyuru aki in Japanese.)
It is also well known autumn is the best season for eating.
Do you like to eat apples, persimmons and baked sweet potatoes?
Yes, each of them is delicious. After eating them all let’s go out.
Chrysanthemum exhibition is being held at Kamitakano Shrine.
It is open from October 23rd to November 6th. There will be an extension by flowering situation.
Today I went there and enjoy seeing the flowers. There are more than 200 spots of the chrysanthemum in the quiet precinct. Chrysanthemum is one of the typical flowers in Japan. I thought this flower and calmness is matching well because I could make myself calm down and refreshing.
How about going to the chrysanthemum exhibition to refresh yourself ?
Let’s enjoy the season of autumn.
Then I’ll show you the way to the shrine. From Satte Station it takes around 15 minutes on foot. Please go straight on the street and turn right at first intersection. If you still go on you’ll find a bifurcation and a bridge. It is called Shite Bridge. This spot has been the meeting place of the two roads from long ago. One was named Nikko Kaido and the other was named Onari Kaido in Edo Era. Please take the right road of the fork and go on until you can find a supermarket. There you will turn left and walk a little more. Before Kamitakano primary school you will take a last left turn. A big torii is welcoming you.

暑かった夏も終わり、季節は秋真っただ中です。『天高く馬肥ゆる秋』が有名ですし、『食欲の秋』であることは広く知られています。リンゴ，柿そして焼き芋お好きですか。それぞれにおいしさがあります。食べたら外へ出かけましょう。
菊花展が上高野神社で10月23日から11月6日まで開かれています。開花状況により延長もあるようです。
今日、菊を愛でてきました。200鉢を超す菊が静かな境内に並んでいました。菊は日本を代表する花です。この花と静けさはとても調和がとれているように思われました。というのも、心が落ち着きリフレッシュすることができたからです。
皆さんも菊花展でリフレッシュしてみませんか。

では、神社への道をお教えしましょう。幸手駅から歩いて15分ほどです。
先ず駅前通りを進み、最初の交差点を右に折れて下さい。なお進みますと、道が二股に分かれ橋がかかっているのが見えてきます。志手橋です。この場所は昔から二つの街道が交わるところなのです。江戸時代においては御成街道が日光街道に合流する地点だったのです。二股に分かれる右側の道をスーパーが見えるまで進んで下さい。その前を左に曲がりもう少し歩きましょう。上高野小学校の手前で最後の左折をします。すると大きな鳥居が皆さんを迎えてくれます。
