Let’s go for a walk!【散歩に出よう！】
Now, in New York, London, Tokyo and wherever we live, people are enjoying walking a usual or a changeable course for good pastime and the health.
There are also many good places for a walking in our town Satte.
One of them is around Tenjin shima.
First, let’s go straight down Sakura street from Satte station,
On the right there is a river named Kuramatsu.
And we can go up to the river bank at once.
We walk slowly the bank for ten minute, which is full of rape flowers in spring.
When we arrive at Tenjin bridge the scenery changes completely.
On the right there is Tenjin shima beyond the river.
In the old days, Tenjin castle was the fort of the feudal lord Mr. Isshiki.
There is a small Sinto shrine standing on old broken stone pavements among the huge trees.
So, we can feel the atmosphere of vestige of ancient fort.
Well, how about taking a break there?
When returning to the bridge we can find many big carps swimming in the river and also wild ducks floating on the water here and there. A few of them don’t return to the north and sometimes white herons are flying in the blue sky.
We walk the bank toward the south. It appears suddenly that vast rice fields spread out and we can see a faraway superhighway and a culture and athletic center .(Nickname is Athcul Satte.)
When we go down the bank there are many paths between the rice fields.
Few cars pass through the paths, so we can walk slowly and safely.
It is still hot, but according to Japanese calendar( lunar calendar) it is already early autumn. And by and by the rice fields will be waving with their golden colors.
When we can hear the sound of combines here and there the peaceful harvest season will come.
Everybody please drop in Satte city.
Let’s walk in the middle of the vast fields and enjoy walking itself.

今、ニューヨーク、ロンドン、東京そして私たちが住んでいるそれぞれの地域で、多くの人々がお決まりのコースやその時々の気まぐれのコースで、気晴らしや健康のために散歩を楽しんでいます。
私達の幸手にもまた散歩に適した場所はたくさんあります。その一つが天神島周辺です。先ず幸手駅から桜通りを真直ぐに歩きましょう。右手に倉松川という川があり、直ぐに川の堤に上れます。春には菜の花で一杯のその堤を十分程ゆっくりと歩きます。すると天神島橋に着きます。そこで景色が一変します。
右手の川向こうに天神島があります。天神島城は昔の領主一色氏の砦でした。そこには巨木に囲まれ、年を経て砕けた石畳の上に小さな祠が建っています。そして私たちは古代の砦の名残の雰囲気を感じ取ることが出来るのです。そこで一休みしませんか。
橋に戻ると、川にはたくさんの大きい鯉が泳いでいて、また野鴨もあちこち川面に浮かんでいるのが分かります。彼らの少しは夏でも北へは帰りません。そして、時々白鷺が青い空を飛んでいます。
堤を南に向かって歩くと、とつぜん目の前に見渡す限りの広大な田んぼが広がります。そして遠くには、高速道や文化体育センター（愛称：アスカル幸手）が眺められます。
堤を下りましょう。田んぼの間にたくさんの小径があり、車が殆んど通らないのでゆっくりと安全に歩けます。
まだ暑いですが、暦の上ではもう初秋です。やがて田んぼは見渡す限り黄金の波で揺れるでしょう。コンバインの音があちこちで聞こえる時、平和な実りの秋がやって来ます。
皆さん幸手へ是非お立ち寄りください。
