Have you ever seen Enku-Butsu? 【円空仏を観たことがありますか？】
We’d like to tell you one of Satte city’s treasures.
It’s Enku-Buddist statue carving with a knife “ittobori”（一刀彫）
You may say “I don’t know what it is”.
The wooden image of ‘Buddha’ roughly carved by Enku has an innocent
but also stern expression.
Enku is a monk who was born in 1632 at Mino-Province, Gifu Prefecture.
He was living as a religious person receiving suffering of poor people’s pain
and sadness by his whole body and soul so he is called “Spiritual clinicians”.
It is said that he made about 120,000 body in his life, survived less 5,300
body now, remained about 150 body in Saitama pref. and of which only
seven(7) bodies registered at our town, the Miura’s residence in Chizuka.
In his young age he left for Ezo and dropped in this land as a missionary work
for propaganda.
Let’s go and see them. Oh what an unfortunate thing!
We can’t watch them now because they are owned in private and not be opened
to the public.
Be open to the public sooner we hope strongly.

幸手市の宝物についてお話します。
それは、一本の刀（ナイフ）で彫られている円空仏のことです。
「何それって」と思われるかも知れません。
円空仏とは、あどけなさと同時に険しい表情を持った粗削りの仏像のことで、円空によって彫られました。
円空は１６３２年美濃の国、岐阜県で生れた僧です。
彼は、貧しい人々の苦しみと悲しみを全身全霊で受けとめた宗教家として生きました。それ故に「魂の臨床医」と呼ばれています。
彼は一生の間におよそ12万体の像を作り、現在5,300体弱が現存しております。埼玉県には約150体、その内わずか7体が私たちの街に残されています。千塚の三浦邸です。
そして、彼は若いころから布教行脚をしました。蝦夷地に向けて国を後にし、この幸手の地にも立ち寄ったのです。
さあ〜円空仏を見に行きましょう。
『オーッ 何ということでしょう！』そうなんです。今は観られないのです。
（三浦邸で）個人所有されていて一般公開されていません。
どうか公開して頂きたいものです。強く望むところです。
